In addition to my personal blog I have another site running – one that I started years ago while I was living in Japan – www.tune-in-tokyo.com - I started it to share photos and stories with my friends and family… but it turned into much more over time. A couple blog posts went viral, like “The Dangers of Portable Gas Stoves” and “Japanese Tattoo Artist HoriYamato aka Akilla,” and before I knew it I was getting steady traffic – thousands of hits a day from all over the world! Pretty cool I thought… but what to do next?

I did a lot of reading and sites like Problogger and DannyChoo really helped me understand how one could actually make a living blogging. I learned about Affiliate Programs like my favorite ‘Amazon Associates’ and I immediately started planting ads throughout my blog. I was making a buck or two here and there but nothing substantial. It wasn’t until I posted this one about Canon 5DMKII Accessories that I made some decent dough.

Tune-In-Tokyo is still getting steady traffic. As a matter of fact I checked my Amazon Associates account today and I noticed 4 sales were made so far in May totaling $2,399.91 USD (see below).

So I guess the point I’m getting to is this – I’m gonna start putting a little effort into my old blog that’s still treating me so well after all this time. So stop by sometime and check out Tune-In-Tokyo.com
